NZGIF congratulates its investee company CentrePort for receiving an international sustainability award for its 100% electric vehicle programme.
CentrePort is proud to have gained global recognition for its 100% electric container movement vehicle programme, which was commissioned earlier this year.
Global shipping/logistics system giant Navis announced CentrePort as the winner of its sustainability award at a ceremony from its HQ in California. Read the full list of award recipients here.
The judges praised the electric vehicle programme for not only reducing carbon emissions but building resilience and increasing operational efficiency.
New Zealand Green Investment Finance provided finance for the project through a green credit facility, announced in June 2020, which enabled CentrePort to pursue the 100% electric vehicle path.
The seven Gaussin 100% electric container transfer vehicles and trailers were manufactured in France and launched in August 2021.
