With a mandate to invest in projects that reduce New Zealand’s greenhouse gas emissions, we are considering investment opportunities in transport, process heat, agriculture and the built environment.
NZGIF is not a funding agency and does not accept applications for funding or grants.

How it works
Set up by the New Zealand Government with an initial capital fund of NZD$100 million, NZGIF is an independent limited liability company. It co-invests with others on a commercial basis, in companies, projects and technologies that reduce emissions.
NZGIF has a long-term investment horizon, a flexible mandate and specialist experts and networks.
We can deploy capital in a way that enables us to consider investments that others can’t.
This allows us to create innovative structures and solutions to attract additional capital, which flow into the opportunities represented by a lower emissions economy.
